I came up with this concept in 2005. AEM as a company had a hard time getting out new product information, pricing and images out to our wholesalers. From there, it never made it downstream to the end-user. We had to think of something that was easy to pass along.
I developed an HTML-based e-mail that combined all the components (Excel price sheet, high-res images, DIM / WT / UPC info) in one simple e-mail. I also tied in current maketing initiatives (web product installation articles, current ads etc) to give out customers an idea what we were pushing as a company and what they should stock as a result. Getting information downstream was as simple as hitting "Forward" in Outlook.
This series of Hot Sheets went over VERY well and helped to increase sales for our customers.
